Stephanie Ann Stewart, a cherished resident of Des Moines, Iowa, bid farewell to this world on March 19, 2024, at Taylor House in Des Moines, after valiantly battling cancer. Born on September 2, 1971, in Des Moines, Stephanie’s journey was one marked by love, service, and an unwavering spirit.

Stephanie’s roots ran deep in the Urbandale area, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Urbandale High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, laying the groundwork for a successful career ahead. Stephanie embarked on her professional journey at America Family Insurance, dedicating 25 years to auto claims before transitioning to Farm Bureau Insurance.

Beyond her career, Stephanie was defined by her selfless acts of kindness and unwavering commitment to community service. Volunteering was not just a pastime for Stephanie; it was a way of life. Whether fostering kittens at Furry Friends Refuge, building beds for underprivileged children with Sleep in Heavenly Place, or ministering to others at Lutheran Church of Hope, Stephanie’s heart overflowed with compassion.

Stephanie embraced a holistic approach to life, advocating for health and wellness at every turn. Her dedication to fitness through activities like weightlifting, yoga, and hiking inspired those around her to prioritize their well-being. A firm believer in seizing the moment, Stephanie encouraged others to live fully and passionately, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Family was at the core of Stephanie’s being, and she reveled in her role as a devoted wife and mother. Her son, Quintin, was the light of her life, and she relished every moment spent supporting him in his pursuits, from sports to hunting adventures on the Stewart Family farm. Stephanie’s love extended beyond her immediate family to her nieces, nephews, and countless friends, who cherished her as their favorite aunt.

Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Stewart, her beloved son, Quintin Stewart, her siblings Kurt (Robin) Roul, Kayce (Chris) Culbertson, and Reagan (Derek) Taylor, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Roul.

A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, located at 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope in loving memory of Stephanie, honoring her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Stephanie Stewart’s journey may have come to an end, but her spirit will live on eternally in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
